Kokeshi Doll Colouring Pages
It struck me the other day that I haven’t created a new downloadable colouring book in absolutely ages. So I’ve put a new one up on Etsy – it’s chock-full of hand-drawn kokeshi dolls for you to colour and includes some fairly blank ones for you to decorate yourself, as well as plenty with lovely floral and geometric patterns that you can let your pencils loose on.

Printable Floral Colouring Bookmarks
I have a tendency to just grab a sticky note to mark my page when I’m reading. I have quite a few bookmarks – the ones that come in the books you reserve from the library, a fair few made by my daughters and laminated by (hopefully) willing early years professionals and teaching assistants, some gorgeous ones that came with Uppercase Magazine and some more that came with Flow Magazine… But I almost never remember to use them and still go for the quick and easy (and not terribly aesthetically satisfying) sticky note!
Anyway… I was thinking how cool it would be to make some bookmarks by printing some of my patterns onto card stock and then guillotining them, when Jen, from Mum in the Madhouse suggested the idea of colouring bookmarks. Wow! What a great idea. I made some suitable for all ages, which you can get over at her blog. And then I thought I’d make some more detailed ones for grown-ups (and kids who like more detail, of course!).
So, here you go – I’ve gathered together some florals for a page of bookmarks.

Lots of people have been coming to this page recently, so I thought I’d give you an extra Happy Weekend colouring page, that I created this week (today being 23 September 2022, a LONG time since the original one below was created). Scroll to the bottom of the page, for the new one. (And you can still download the original one, too!)
I figured it was well past time I gave you a free colouring page, so here’s one for the weekend. Fairly simple one suitable for kids as well as grown-ups, but hopefully will help put you in the mood for having a really good weekend.

Christmas Colouring Book (printable) available now
A little later than I’d hoped, but I’ve finished my Christmas colouring book and it’s now available from my Etsy store.
Jam-packed with 25 festive Christmassy designs to keep you calm and colourful through the month. You could even print them out four or more to a page and use them to make Christmas cards or gift tags. Try printing on watercolour paper and colouring with some paints or watercolour pencils – like my daughter did for the robin picture below. Or add some gold to make it sparkle – Christmas is a great time for getting the gold pens out!
Inktober Colouring Book now on Etsy (plus free sample)
My (digital) Inktober Colouring Book is now available on Etsy to buy for £4 (plus VAT, if you’re in the EU). It contains all the drawings I did for this year’s Inktober. Some are more suited for colouring than others, but there’s a good enough variety of complexity, I feel. Flowers, Paisleys, symmetrical patterns, women, and a fabulous regal lion.

Holiday Flowers: New Colouring Book and FREE sampler
While on our holidays this year (in a very beautiful Cornish pair of villages – Kingsand and Cawsand), I did quite a bit of drawing full pages of stylised flowers – this seems to be my go-to relaxation technique – and I shared most of them on Instagram or Facebook. A few people said they’d love to colour them, so I decided to make a new colouring book largely comprising the flowers I’d drawn on holiday. You can buy it from my Esty store and here is a free sampler to download, too. I’ve done this sampler a bit differently – instead of a single design to colour in, I’ve done a page with snippets from each of the designs. Please do feed back to me on which you prefer, and of course, feel free to share your coloured designs with me.
Another colouring book – and a free sample
Well, it’s taken a while, sorry, but I’ve uploaded my second printable colouring book to Etsy.
And I am, of course, offering you a free sample as a little taster – hopefully it will whet your appetite enough to buy the whole book, but even if it doesn’t, I hope you have lots of fun colouring it in! This books all about the flowers and they’re all in a kind of Art Nouveau symmetrical style (one of my favourite designs/patterns to make). I’m hoping to create a new book every few weeks if I can, and will post them here, along with a taster, whenever I have a new one ready.

Colouring for grown-ups
So… it seems grown-ups are getting totally into colouring now. Awesome! I’ve always loved colouring, and used to spend hours as a very young child colouring in Altair Design books using my big tin of felt tips. These days I mostly just colour my own pictures, but now and then my daughters will ask me to colour something with them. Colouring can be a really relaxing and therapeutic activity, allowing you to lose yourself in the design and the colours, or concentrating your mind on the details or symmetry (You know I love symmetry, right? To the point where my table has to be set with the plates symmetrical, but not matching – two blues opposite each other, two whites opposite each other two blues on one side a yellow opposite and two whites at the far ends… Yeah, it’s a little obsessive.)
Spurred on by a friend writing a blog post about colouring for grown-ups (Mum in the Madhouse), I pulled out a couple of designs and made them into sample colouring pages for her to offer with her post. A month later, I was again spurred on by her to make a downloadable colouring book, which you can find on Etsy. Her post went a little crazy, being shared on a popular parenting Facebook page, and suddenly my Facebook page was hugely popular (in comparison to before) and people were asking about colouring pages and I wasn’t entirely sure what was going on, but it was lovely to have a whole new audience (I just hope they like to see lots and lots of patterns, as well as the odd colouring page I’ll throw in now and then).
Anyway… blatant plug coming up (it’s my website, I’m allowed!)… you can buy my colouring book on my Etsy shop (which I can’t add to the pull-down thingy up at the top of the site right now, because I can’t for the life of me remember where to edit the information that’s in there – oops!). And, these are the pictures you’ll get in it – 14 pictures in total and all based on my black and white ink drawings (many of them from the ‘Inktober’ challenge).

Since that one’s selling pretty well, I’m working on another one, which looks like it will concentrate on flowers and birds – tentative title is ‘Feathering the Garden’, but I reserve the right to change my mind completely.
