About Tasha Goddard, lifestyle illustrator and pattern designer

Tasha Goddard

If you are looking for relatable, fun and quirky illustrations of life and food, you’re in the right place. I have illustrated books, educational resources, greetings cards, web graphics, bookmarks and postcards. I have also licensed lots of patterns around the world.

My illustrations can add decoration, emotion and character to your text or product. They draw on real life but bring in quirk, a slightly wonky line and a lot of colour.

If you would like to add some colour, comfort and fun to your project, and are looking for something drawn by a human to contrast with the bland AI slop you might be seeing a lot of, then please do get in touch!

I have decades of experience in educational publishing, wearing an editorial, design, project management and illustration hat. This means I am comfortable with software, print requirements, deadlines, and navigating briefs. I will happily take a list or spreadsheet with variety of spot illustrations and get to work, researching were needed. And I’m also able to take a text and pick out the relatable everyday elements and emotion within and highlight them in an appealing and fun illustration.

My style is loose and hand-drawn (though often hand-drawn with an iPad or Wacom pen!). There’s usually a lot of colour, but I’m also comfortable with black and white line drawings. I am happy to work in vector or pixels, depending on your requirements.

Clients

I have worked with a variety of clients, including DK Books, Nextquisiste, Cardooo, Clare Mackintosh, Kim Designs, Pearson and Hachette.

I have been described as ‘the most organised illustrator’ and my work has been described as ‘fun’, ‘whimsical’, ‘colourful’ and ‘always makes me smile’, as well as ‘really showing deep emotions‘.

Memberships

I am a member of The Association of Illustrators, Illustrators for Hire and Inky Goodness Collective.

A few fun facts about Tasha Goddard

I love to travel, read, cook vegetarian and vegan food, walk around European cities, write – and of course draw (and paint)! I live in a quirky, creative and quite outspoken town (Stroud) in The Cotswolds, with my husband, daughters and cats.

I grew up in a wonderfully creative and curious vegetarian and hippy household, surrounded by books and art, and was home educated for a few years. I have lived in Spain and France, but mostly the UK.

I love colour, pattern, maximalism and slightly organised chaos, but am also addicted to spreadsheets, trackers and lists.

Most morning you will find me sitting on the sofa or the armchair drawing with a fountain pen in my Morning Ink pages. You can see some of these on the Sketchbook page, or on my Substack.
