About Tasha Goddard, illustrator and pattern designer

If you would like to add some colour, comfort and fun to your project, and are looking for something drawn by a human, then please do get in touch!

My style is loose and hand-drawn. I can work entirely digitally (using an iPad or Wacom Cintiq), but am increasingly bringing back more and more of the physically hand-drawn or painted into my work, sometimes composing or layering digitally, or combining with digital colour, but now also sometimes creating fully analogue art. There’s usually a lot of colour, but I’m also comfortable with black on white (or blue on white) line drawings, and limited palettes. I am also comfortable working in vector if needed.

I have illustrated for books, greetings cards, online and offline editorial and marketing purposes and have licensed many patterns globally.

I have worked with a variety of clients, including DK Books, Nextquisiste, Cardooo, Clare Mackintosh, Kim Designs, Pearson and Hachette.

I have been described as ‘the most organised illustrator’ and my work has been described as ‘fun’, ‘whimsical’, ‘colourful’ and ‘always makes me smile’, as well as ‘really showing deep emotions’.

A few fun facts about Tasha Goddard

I love to travel, read, cook vegetarian and vegan food, walk around European cities, write – and of course draw (and paint)! I live in a quirky, creative and quite outspoken town (Stroud) in The Cotswolds, with my husband, daughters and cat.

I grew up in a wonderfully creative and curious vegetarian and hippy household, surrounded by books and art, and was home educated for a few years. I have lived in Spain and France, but mostly the UK. I speak English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Portuguese and Esperanto, to differing degrees, and am always looking for the next language to learn.

I love colour, pattern, maximalism and slightly organised chaos, but am also addicted to spreadsheets, trackers and lists.

Most mornings you will find me sitting on the sofa or the armchair drawing with a fountain pen, pencils or oil pastels in my sketchbook, and weekends I will often be ensconced in my teeny, tiny attic studio in the most beautiful building in Stroud. I tend to go through phases of drawing lots and lots on a theme and then will switch to something else. Some phases have included food, birds, trees and tabletops – and flowers, whether realistic or a quirky and a bit weird invention pulled from my head, feature a lot.
