About

Self-portrait of Tasha Goddard, illustrated by Tasha Goddard. Drawn with fountain pen and coloured digitally. Shows a loose hand-drawn drawing of a woman with pink top and messy dark hair, with blue hairband and green eyes.

I’ve been illustrating and creating patterns for around ten years now. My work has been in books, on greetings cards, online and on products. My style is loose and hand-drawn (though frequently it’s hand-drawn with an iPad or Wacom pen!). There’s usually a lot of colour, but I’m also comfortable with black and white line drawings. I am particularly experienced in digitally hand-drawn vector (which have the huge benefit of scalability), but am also very at home with textures (digitally hand-drawn or

I draw a lot of everyday objects, food and loads of rooms, so often describe myself as a lifestyle illustrator, but I will rise to the challenge of drawing most things, and love nothing better than sitting down to draw a new topic or theme and finding my own particular way to stylise or depict something.

I have been described as ‘the most organised illustrator’ and my work has been described as ‘fun’, ‘whimsical’, ‘colourful’ and ‘always makes me smile’, as well as ‘really showing deep emotions’.

If you’re looking for illustrations that will bring life or colour to a text, depict emotions or just add a fun decorative element to a recipe or article, then my work should fit right in. I’m also an experienced pattern designer and have been licensing patterns for a decade.

Do get in touch if you have a project that would benefit from my illustration style or decorative eye. I am open to commissions, licensing of existing or new work and other collaborations.

And a little bit about ME, not my work

I love to travel, read, cook vegetarian and vegan food, walk (especially around European cities, but also in the British countryside), write – and of course draw (and paint)! I live in a quirky, creative and quite outspoken town (Stroud) in The Cotswolds, with my husband, daughters and cats.

I grew up in a wonderfully creative and curious vegetarian and hippy household and was home educated for a few years. I lived in Spain for a year as a child and before that hitch-hiked through various European countries with my mother, attending Esperanto congresses. I was an only child for twelve years until my wonderful sister arrived into our world.

I love colour, pattern, maximalism, slightly organised chaos, but am also addicted to spreadsheets and lists. I am a Prosecco- and beer-drinking (sometimes zero alcohol versions) socialist and believe in equality and inclusion within a beautiful diverse world.
